When planning our responsive images feature (#2255) we talked about normalizing images to make sure all originals have the same basic properties which makes it easier to work with them / transform them in different ways.
Implementation
@Mogge I think you brought this up – could you maybe update this description with your experience, especially why this is important and maybe how it could be implemented?
